Our story
The Second Thoughts started in 2019 when a handful of graduates from a local improv class realized they weren't ready to stop playing together. We rented a black box theater for one night, sold 31 tickets (mostly to our parents), and had the time of our lives.
Since then we've performed hundreds of shows in theaters, breweries, libraries and conference rooms. Every show is made up on the spot from audience suggestions, so no two are ever the same.
We believe improv is for everyone: the people on stage and the people in the seats. Our shows are welcoming, and we work to make our venues accessible. If you need anything to enjoy the show, just ask.
Our show formats
Short-Form
Fast-paced scene games in the style of Whose Line. High energy, lots of audience suggestions, great for first-timers.
Long-Form
One suggestion becomes a 40-minute web of connected scenes and recurring characters. Think of it as a play written live.
Themed Nights
Improvised musicals, a murder mystery, a Shakespeare tragedy nobody has heard of. Check the calendar for what's next.
